Crowdsourcing is the act of taking a function former performed by an employee and outsourcing it to an undefined person, generally large group of people using information technology.
Crowdsourcing relies on a combination of distributed networks, inexpensive digital tools for production and people who create content, rate other people's work or solve problems in their spare time.
There are a lot of services for providing Crowdsourcing tools like:

Podcasts
A podcast is a type of digital media consisting of an episodic series of audio or video files subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device. The word is a neologism derived from "broadcast" and "pod" from the success of the iPod, as podcasts are often listened to on portable media players.
Variants:
Video podcast: The same as a normal podcast, but it includes video.
Podcast novels: A podcast novel is a mix of the traditional podcast and a format called audiobook. It’s like a traditional novel but it’s delivered via RSS. The recording process is made continuously. Every time an episode is done it will be released online. Podcast novels are distributed over the Internet, commonly on a weblog.
Enhanced podcast: Enhanced podcast is also an expansion of the traditional podcast format. It includes some extra information like images displayed simultaneously. Links are also allowed to provide extra information and content.
Platform: The most used platform is called iTunes. iTunes is a media player computer program, used for playing, downloading, saving, and organizing digital music content and video files on personal computers. It can also manage contents on iDevices. Other software not that popular is also available for different platforms.
A list can be viewed on: http://www.buzzmaven.com/podcast-software-list.html#Macintosh_Podcast_Software.
Most popular Podcasts in Germany:
The most popular podcast(audio) on iTunes is actual because of the european championship, Jogis Jungs provided by SWR 3, a bavarian radio station.
2nd is Quarks and Co(video podcast) a scientific TV format explaining the world from the eyes of a scientist.

Dell Hell
I just searched for dell hell on different search engines here are the results:
Google: About 30,900,000 results (0.21 seconds)
Bing: 112.000.000 Ergebnissen
Blekko: 36M results
In June of 2005 Jeff Jarvis posted a rant on his blog Buzz Machine titled "Dell lies. dell sucks"
That post sparked a customer revolt. Dell's market cap has deteriorated ever since. Certainly the customer discontent from 2005 is not the only reason for Dell's difficulty. But I'm sure it was a factor. Dell today takes Social Business seriously, with one of the most sophisticated social listening command centers on the planet.

I think its really interesting which power the webcommunity has. Jeff Jarvis reduced the market cap of dell for about 50%. This is really amazing.
Reacting to this Post Dell startet a website called ideastorm.com for letting the customers help to design better product and give their own opinions.
Thats all for now

Kickstarter.com
Hi, today i'm going to tell you something about the crowd funding plattform Kickstarter.com. On this site its possible for everyone to start a projekt or funding to projects from other people. Every projekt has a money target and if its reached the project is successfully funded.
I already knew kickstarter.com before this Social Web Class because of a project called Double Fine Adventure. Tim Schafer (Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango) is one of the programmers here. The project is one of the most successful ones on kickstarter it Pledged about 3.3 Million Dollar of a goal of 400 thousand. That means about 800 percent more as suspected.
Another interesting projekt was the Printbot LC. It's a Full LASERCUT Printrbot Kit. Everything you need in one box to assemble a Printrbot Lasercut (“LC”). It funded about 800,000 Dollars, about 3000 percent more than suspected. Amazing!
ScanBox for iPhone is also such a cool project it's an easy to use, affordable and unbelievably portable scanning box that uses your smartphone's camera to take amazing high quality scans. It's easy to set up and packs down flat to easily fit into your bag or brief case. This project hast 25 Day's to go and has already reached ten times the Goal.
